WASHINGTON (AP) - More than 10 years have passed since she gave up her pursuit of a degree in computer science, but Yajahira Deaza still has regrets. She says she feels incomplete. Discussion of what Utah should do to address the state’s immigration issues focused on two options during Gov. Gary Herbert’s immigration summit last week: Arizona-style enforcement or a Utah-specific guest worker card. But it was Lt. Gov. Greg Bell, an attorney, who got to the heart of the matter: “I’m very intrigued about this guest worker idea, but is there any system that Utah could adopt for allowing guest worker status … without a federal action taking place?”

While accurate numbers are hard to find, most estimates put the number of foreign-born residents in Georgia at nearly 1 million — the ninth-largest immigrant segment in the United States. It may sound like a silly joke, but do you know how to tell if a Latino was born in the United States or foreign-born? The answer may be to look at how often they go online or use cell phones.
