Why is President Obama suing to invalidate the Arizona law on illegal immigration? Why is he incurring the enmity of even his own Democratic congressmen from the Phoenix and Tucson areas by trying to kill a law that two-thirds of Arizona and a similar proportion of America as a whole supports? The answer: It is a desperate, last-ditch attempt to rebuild his sagging popularity with America\'s Hispanic voters.

SALT LAKE CITY -- A Top of Utah lawmaker will lead a legislative delegation to Arizona next week to hear firsthand experiences of border immigration issues, a legislative topic that has sparked a firestorm of controversy in some parts the United States. Rep. Paul Ray, R-Clinton, will head to the Arizona-Mexico border Monday, and with him will be Utah House Speaker David Clark and Rep. Stephen Sandstrom, R-Orem. \"It\'s a fact-finding mission,\" said Sandstrom.

Former U.S. Attorney for Utah Brett Tolman’s 7-year-old son came home from school one day and asked his dad a question. “Is every Hispanic an illegal?” The boy’s classmates had told him that was the case, and he wondered why his father, who prosecuted criminals, wasn’t rounding up immigrants and deporting them. Tolman used it as an example of the potentially toxic effects today’s overheated political rhetoric can have.

WASHINGTON - A federal database designed to identify non-citizens has helped authorities remove 31,000 convicted criminals from the United States in less than two years and is being aggressively expanded throughout Arizona and the nation by President Barack Obama\'s administration. The Secure Communities database already is in use at jails in seven Arizona counties: Cochise, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai and Yuma.

That\'s because Fremont\'s insurance carrier opted to go with another firm over attorney Kris Kobach. “Let\'s cut to the chase: We don\'t even know him,” said Michael Nolan, who directs Fremont\'s taxpayer-funded insurance group, the League Association of Risk Management, or LARM.
